As the school you can monitor the online tutoring that your students receive, including the tutors they are linked to and the online lessons they attend.
View linked tutors
Once students are added to your account, we'll link them to specific tutors according to tutoring requirements. You can see all the links between your students and our tutors from your school account (My account > Their tuition).
If your students are due to attend online lessons but they have not yet been linked to a tutor, please contact us.
Message tutors
You can send a message to any tutor who is linked to one of your students (My account > Their tutors > Message tutor). If you have already exchanged a messages with a tutor you can view them in your inbox (My account > Messages). As the school, messages you send to tutors are not visible to students. If a tutor sends you a message on the platform you'll receive an email notification.
View lesson logs
All online lessons attended by your students are automatically logged. Lesson logs show when each student joined and left the lesson, so you can monitor if students are late for a lesson or if they leave early. If the tutor has added any notes or files to a lesson log you can view these by clicking Details.
To view all lesson logs click My account then Their lessons (most recent lessons show at the top). If a lesson is still in progress it will show as an Active lesson, allowing you to see in real-time which students are attending lessons.
To view lesson logs for a specific student, click My students then click the lesson count (the number in the lessons column) for the required student.
Observe live lessons
Depending upon your school account setup, you may have the option to observe lessons as they occur. If this option if enabled on your account then for Active lessons you will see the option to Enter room.
To observe a live lesson:
- Find an active lesson (My account > Their lessons).
- Enter the room.
- You'll be prompted to allow access to your camera and microphone. If you only wish to observe the lesson, you can Block / Don't Allow access. If you would like to speak to the tutor and students or would like them to be able to see you, then you'll need to Allow access.
- Click Join to enter the Tutor Room.
You'll be able to see all the whiteboard content and also be able to see and hear the tutor and the students. You can also type a message into the chat if needed. If you allowed access to your camera and microphone (and they are turned on) then the tutor and students will be able to see and hear you.
Note: When you first enter the room, the tutor will see a prompt to let them know that a school admin user has joined the lesson as an observer.
